TRAIL DESCRIPTION
The Meadow Creek Mountain trails offer a true Appalachian endurance experience, a mix of technical terrain, flowing forest roads, and rugged mountain scenery. Riders can expect a combination of gravel roads, single track, old logging roads, and a few narrower trail sections that require attention and horsemanship.
There is plenty of elevation throughout the course, with long climbs and rewarding descents, but the trails are very manageable for a fit and prepared horse. Some sections feature gravel and plenty of rocks, so hoof protection is required. The footing and terrain will challenge riders just enough to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. These are honest mountain trails: fun, varied, scenic, and built for riders who enjoy a little grit with their miles.
Please note that hoof protection is REQUIRED for this ride – this is NOT a barefoot friendly course. Some form of metal shoes, shoes with pads, boots, or composite shoes will be needed to participate. These trails will eat up your horses hooves, between the rock in sections and gravel stretches we cannot ethically let you compete without protection.
